RIP The Macho Man by juniorbethyname RIP The Macho Man by juniorbethyname
The Macho Man wasn’t one of my favorites as a kid. I freaking HATED him! Of course, when you’re a child, and your hero is “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan, you’re pretty much destined to hate whoever his biggest rival is—and I would consider Randy Savage to be just that. Of all the wars Hogan had while on top, none had the impact that his feud with Savage did. I remember watching the Saturday Night Main Event where Savage turned on Hogan like it was yesterday.

Best friends torn apart through a misunderstanding, and ultimately, one man’s ego. It was almost Shakespearian.

When I got older, and started recognizing all the psychology at work, and gained a respect for workers who could actually work, my hatred turned into love, and Macho quickly became one of my all-time favorites. He could wrestle, he had an incredible persona, and his promos were legendary! Every couple of months I’ll lose a couple of hours having fallen down the rabbit hole of old Macho Man promos on Youtube. Everything the man did was amazing, even after he segued into the cowboy hat and zebra-print blazer. And he was the only one who could make what he did work—Zubaz proved that.

RIP Macho Man.

That's sad. His family must be crushed. :(

He died a couple of years ago. I'm sure it was pretty devastating for them, as it would be for anyone who loses a family member. It was pretty sad for myself as a fan, too. The guy was AMAZING! One of the best at what he did.
